WhoCommunity and business leaders, charitable organizations, and corporations are all coming together to make a difference in disaster-stricken Japan. WhatProject Kokoro is a local initiative offering support and encouragement to areas of Japan that have been affected by the disaster. Our goal is simple: bring communities together during this time of crisis for the people of Japan. WhenWhile Japan's substantial rebuilding efforts are expected to span several years, now is the time get involved so that we can assure Japanese community members that help is on the way. WhereWith our Minami-Souma project completed, efforts are now underway in Yamada-Machi in Iwate Prefecture, where Project Kokoro is building a house for the volunteer fire brigade, who have been forced to sleep in their trucks and cars while on duty ever since the disaster. WhyFrom the global business nature of Research Triangle Park to the cultural diversity that results from having three world-class universities surrounding the area, Triangle residents pride themselves on being responsible global citizens. HowAdditional financial contributions are needed. Since Project Kokoro team members are serving strictly as volunteers, all proceeds go directly to the initiative. The accounting and fund management of the donations are being managed by Triangle Community Foundation. We need your help. |
